Review of the National Environment Policy (NEP) 2013: Technical Working Group Workshop

Kenya has commenced the review of the National Environment Policy (NEP) 2013 through a Technical Working Group workshop, bringing together stakeholders to strengthen the country’s environmental policy and institutional framework. The review recognizes the growing connection between Kenya’s environmental and development agendas, including sustainable management of natural resources, climate change response, pollution control and the transition towards a circular economy. The process aims to position environmental stewardship as a key enabler of Kenya’s long-term development, competitiveness, resilience and prosperity. UNDP is partnering with the Government of Kenya, through the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, to support the review and translate policy ambitions into practical action and sustainable development outcomes for all Kenyans.
